ACCOMMODATION

Are priorities given to particular students?

The Village hosts a diverse range of residents from all over the world and across Australia, and we see this as a true strength of our community. To ensure fairness, we don't give preference to any group over others. Therefore we encourage all applicants to submit the relevant forms as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

ACCOMMODATION

Can I choose my flatmates?

If you’d like to share an apartment or a dual occupancy room with a friend, please specify this on your application form. Given the demand for rooms, we can’t guarantee to fulfill all requests, but we’ll definitely try our best to accommodate you.

The earlier you and your friend apply, the easier it is for us to assign you to the same apartment or room.

ACCOMMODATION

Can my partner live with me?

Spouses, partners, boyfriends or girlfriends can apply for accommodation at University of Canberra Village, as long as they are students at The University of Canberra. Couples can request to be allocated rooms in the same apartment. Most rooms are single occupancy only, however a number of dual occupancy rooms with bunk beds are now available. Find out more. In addition, a very limited number of dual occupancy rooms are available in the 1 bedroom apartments, please enquire directly for more information.

Given the demand for rooms, we can’t guarantee to fulfill all requests, but we’ll definitely try our best to accommodate you.

How long are the residential agreements?

University of Canberra Village offers the choice of an 18 or 45 week residential agreement, which means you don’t have to pay for accommodation over the summer period if you’ll be away.

18 week agreements are perfect for those studying for only one semester, while 45 week agreements give residents the freedom to access rooms and facilities throughout the academic year.

Accommodation at University of Canberra Village is in high demand. If you choose an 18 week agreement, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that we’ll have a room available if you wish to extend your contract. A 45 week agreement means that you can live in the same room for the entire academic year (as set out in the Residential Agreement University of Canberra Village reserves the right to move a resident to another room).
